Best Times to Dash: Peak Hours Explained (2026)

Timing is one of the biggest levers for DoorDash earnings. Drivers who schedule around peak windows consistently earn 25-40% more per hour than those who dash at random times.

Daily Peak Hour Windows

Lunch: 11 AM - 1 PM

Quick turnaround orders. Business districts perform best.

Dinner: 5 PM - 9 PM

Highest volume, best tips, most Peak Pay availability.

Late Night: 9 PM - 12 AM

College towns and urban areas. Less competition.

Weekend All Day

Saturday is the single highest-earning day of the week.

Best Days to Dash

Friday and Saturday evenings have the highest order volume. Sunday lunch is also strong. Tuesday tends to be the slowest day. DoorDash Peak Pay bonuses are most common on Friday-Sunday evenings.

How Peak Pay Works

Peak Pay adds $1-$5 per completed order during high-demand periods. You can view scheduled Peak Pay in the DoorDash app up to 24 hours in advance. It is applied automatically to eligible deliveries during the Peak Pay window.
